Transcription: <br />CHOW-CHOW <br />1 quart chopped cabbage <br />2 cups chopped onions <br />2 cups chopped green tomatoes <br />2 cups corn <br />1 cup chopped red sweet pepper <br />2 cups carrots <br />3 tablespoons salt <br />2- 1/2 cups vinegar <br />2- 1/2 cups sugar <br />2 teaspoons dry mustard <br />1 teaspoon turmeric 1<br />teaspoon ground ginger <br />2 teaspoons celery seed <br />1 teaspoon mustard seed <br />Combine chopped vegetables; sprinkle with salt. Let stand 4 to 6 hours. Drain well. Combine vinegar, sugar, and spices; simmer 10 minutes. Add vegetables and simmer 10 minutes more (bring to boiling point). Pack in hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2 inch space; seal. Chopped cucumbers or cauliflower may also be added.]]></dcterms:description>

From Kings Mountain founding in 1874 until 2009 it was a dry town. The image is almost a party scene as town residents watch the illegal booze going into the sewer.
